The City of Menlo will be seeking bids for fixing the electrical issues on 12 poles to place their new Christmas lights on next year.
This year, four of the lights did not work because of the electrical problems.
“It would be bad if we put the new lights up and they did not work,” council member Carol Mitchell said.
After a discussion, the council voted to ask for bids on fixing all of the poles and the request for bids will be advertised in next week’s edition of The Summerville News.
The council named its committees for the upcoming year. They are: Water and Sewer, John VanHorn, Theresa Canada and Carol Mitchell; Security, John VanHorn, Chuck Powell and Patti Settoon; Beautification, Virginia Welch, Carol Mitchell and Patti Settoon; Budget, all council members; Streets, Virginia Welch, Chuck Powell and Theresa Canada.
