A Summerville mother noticed her car was running badly before it caught on fire Tuesday afternoon.

Tonya Renee Dawson, of 1534 Back Berryton Road, went to the store around 6:15 p.m. in her tan 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. . .

"Dawson advised that her vehicle had been running bad all day but she just needed to make a quick run to the store and back. As Dawson was coming home from the store, her vehicle really started to run badly, but she finely was able to limp it home," Deputy Wendell Flood stated. "Ms. Dawson stated that when she pulled up in the driveway and cut the car off, she immediately smelled something burning. Both her and her son quickly exited the vehicle. Ms. Dawson stated that when she got out of the vehicle and looked, she could see a red glow coming from underneath. When Ms Dawson saw the fire she used her cell phone to call E-911 right away."

The vehicle was a total loss.
