As the paving season comes to a close, Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters says only one road is left for paving.
Earlier this week William D. Patty Construction paved .8 miles of Lake Wanda Reita Road and Ruff Street. This is part of the county's annual paving.
"I think we are down to Hamp Brewer Road. That should be the last paving for the year," Commissioner Winters said.
The paving is part of the Georgia DOT's Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG). This year the state paved a portion of 10 county roads. The cost to pave those roads was about $650,000, according to the commissioner.
The 9.9 miles of roads paved this year included:
* Lick Skillet Road, Summerville, had 1.5 miles of paving starting at Wildlife Lake Road.
* Owens Dairy Road, Lyerly, had 1.7 miles of paving starting at Oak Hill Road.
* Jamestown Road, Menlo, had 1.3 miles of paving starting at the Alabama state line.
* Valley View Ranch Road, Cloudland, had 1.5 miles of paving starting at Highway 157.
* Lake Wanda Reita Road, Summerville, had .8 miles of paving starting at Highway 27.
* Green Hill Memorial Garden Road, Pennville, had .6 miles of paving starting at Highway 27.
* Hamp Brewer Road, Lyerly, will get a mile of paving starting at Highway 114.
* Wylan Hill/Wylan Terrace, Summerville, had .6 miles of paving starting at Goodwin Drive.
* Goodwin Drive, Summerville, had .7 miles of paving starting at the Summerville city limits.
* Sara Jane Lane, Summerville, had .3 miles of paving starting at Orchard Hill Road.
