Habitat for Humanity Coosa Valley is looking for low-income families who would like to own their homes.
The Georgia-based non-profit will have representatives on hand at two family selection meetings in Chattooga County. The first meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7. The second meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Jan. 9. Both meetings will be at Trion Town Hall.
Anyone wishing to be considered for one of the Habitat-built homes has to attend one of these two meetings. Qualifications for the program will be explained and applications provided.
Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-profit company which helps provide housing for working families. The families must qualify for Habitat financial assistance and must be able to make monthly payments. Family members are also asked to help in the construction of the houses, which is largely done by volunteers.
