The Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force was in Chattooga County yesterday making a few drug arrests, according to Sheriff Mark Schrader.
Around 10 a.m., DTF agents and other local lawmen raided at house at 1645 Old Highway 27, Trion. Schrader says the property owner, 45-year-old Lawayne Dale Calaway was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a scheduled II drug.
The sheriff says drug agents made an undercover buy from Calaway. A warrant was issued, Schrader said.
Agents also made another raid in Lyerly yesterday. They arrested 33-year-old Jason Matthew Newton for possession of a scheduled IV drug, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and selling methamphetamine, according to jail records.
