Trion’s demoted Police Chief Charles Latta has hired a lawyer for Monday night's public personnel review.
     Latta has formally protested his demotion. He went from Chief of Police to working as a second shift patrolman. Now he wants a hearing before the mayor and council to find out why. That hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m.

     Latta has hired Rome Attorney David F. Guldenschuh, according to Town of Trion Attorney Albert Palmour.
     Palmour and Guldenschuh have battled on Trion soil before. Back in 2006, Guldenschuh  represented a town employee that was initially fire by Trion Mayor Benny Perry for unknown reasons. A specific reason for Latta’s demotion is also lacking.
